Glauco Simim Lima, recognized as Gominha, is a devoted family man, married and the proud father of two girls, originally from Minas Gerais, Brazil. His martial arts journey began at the age of five under his father's guidance, dedicating seven years to Taekwondo and achieving a blue belt with a red stripe.
Exploring various disciplines such as Luta Livre, Capoeira, boxing, and muay Thai, Gominha found his true calling in jiu-jitsu at the age of 16. Initiating his professional jiu-jitsu career in 2009, he underwent rigorous training in multiple Brazilian academies. The turning point came in 2010 when he joined the CJJFamily under the mentorship of Professor Carlos Junior, known as Borracha.
Gominha has actively participated in renowned national and international competitions, with plans to continue. His dedication and talent were exemplified by the pinnacle achievement of receiving the coveted black belt after emerging victorious, winning gold as the new World Champion at the IBJJF Worlds Championship.
Throughout his journey, he honed his skills alongside eminent figures in the sport, including Alex Pezão from Check Mat Academy in São Paulo, Roberto Abreu of Fight Sports in Miami, Florida, and Victor Scholsser and Alexander Cocineiro at Pulgoplata Team in Boca Raton, Florida. Gominha stands as a seasoned practitioner and a dedicated advocate, using the art of jiu-jitsu to positively impact lives by guiding individuals toward a healthier and more balanced lifestyle, fostering not only physical well-being but also mental resilience.
